5 months agoPardesi Grocers 1300 S Main St, Unit K Lombard, Illinois 60148 On November 21, 2025, I made a purchase at this store. The attached receipt clearly shows that the store charged 10% tax on Hot Food and 10% tax on Non-Food items. Details of the Issue: • The store charged 10% Hot Food Tax, which appears higher than the standard rate for Lombard, IL. • The store also charged 10% tax on a Non-Food item, which is incorrect because non-food sales tax in DuPage County is normally around 8%, not 10%. • Charging the same 10% “tax” on both food and non-food items is misleading and does not match the standard Illinois sales tax structure. Purchase Summary: • Chicken Mandi × 2 • 7UP Supari Silver (48 ct) × 1 • Subtotal: $36.47 • Hot Food Tax 10%: $2.80 • Non-Food Tax 10%: $0.85 • Total Paid: $40.12 This appears to be an overcharge and possibly an incorrect application of sales tax to customers. I kindly request that your department investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with Illinois tax “I request everyone to please check your taxes and your bill carefully, because Pardesi Grocers has been overcharging customers. The taxes they charge should apply to the final total, but they are charging tax individually on each product, which is incorrect

8 months agoMultiple experiences of poor quality meat and providing incorrect meat. Recommend all to purchase their meat from Mediterranean market.

9 months agoI didn’t know much about the grocery store itself, but last week I found out they make fresh food. I tried their chicken handi and honestly, it was super delicious—better than any fancy restaurant in town. If they prepare fresh food daily, I’d definitely choose their food over the desi catering folks cooking from home.

10 months agoStay away from the lady on the counter as she is rude. When I told her that the chickpeas in the papdi chaat we bought were uncooked; she responded that they use the canned chickpeas which are cooked therefore I am wrong.

Edited 11 months agoExtremely bad costumer service. Very rude lady on phone while placing meat order.Very bad grocery store. Don't waste your money here. Go somewhere else who respects costumers.

a year agoIf you’re looking for authentic Pakistani Biryani, look no further—this is hands down the best in town! The flavors are spot on, the aroma is mouthwatering, and every bite takes you straight to Karachi. Highly recommended!

a year agoI purchased samosa and it's 200% of too oily. I kept it on a thin plate and napkin under samosa, the oil went down to the napkin and down to the plate and I see oil on my table. Its not just 1 napkin, its 2 napkins and each napkin I folded 3 times, its total 6 folds of 2 napkins and it's still oilyyyy. Very bad please improve the quality. I thing I can say is samosa tastes good, please take care of oil filtration.

4 years agoGreat place to buy halal meat. You should try their chili chicken, chicken 65 and lychee drink (Pakola)
